The role

As a Sterile Technician, you’ll be responsible for the critical task of ensuring that surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilised, and prepared for use in healthcare settings. Your duties will involve disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting surgical instruments, then meticulously sterilising them using various methods, such as autoclaving. You’ll also assemble instrument trays and supply carts for surgical procedures, maintaining strict adherence to infection control standards and safety protocols. 

Your role is pivotal in preventing healthcare-associated infections and maintaining the integrity of sterile supplies, so strong attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills are essential for this job.

• 6 months’ experience within a UK healthcare setting
