You will be joining a friendly team within a School Based Setting, renowned for excellence.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality specialist Occupational Therapy service as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This will involve leading on development and implantation of Specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for this new service. Emphasis will be on evaluating and developing the service to provide high Quality care that best meet the needs of residents.

The post holder will undertake Lead Clinician responsibilities and the delivery of packages of care to children with varying needs and complexities. The post holder will be responsible for providing supervision to clinical staff and students as required. 

The post holder will work within a residential model of care, including participating in and co-delivering training, attending team Reflective Practice as a key part of the role, facilitating a therapeutic culture and activities. The post-holder will support the learning and understanding of the whole service. As part of this role they must embody the core principles of reflectiveness, and developmentally and trauma-informed practice, in their daily activities.

The post holder will be allocated to a ‘house’ providing support and development for residents. They will also contribute to a wider programme of intervention, ensuring that a variety of opportunities for expression, exploration and empowerment are available for residents.  

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1.    The Post holder will take responsibility for delivering and developing specialist Occupational Therapy input within Oasis Restore.
2.    They will provide supervision for clinical staff and students as required. 
3.    They will ensure that the Occupational Therapy input is effective, responsive and meets the needs of the Young people living within the service. 
4.    The Post holder will take responsibility for managing cases, maximising opportunities for direct patient related contacts and take lead professional responsibilities as required. They will assess the needs of YP/YA and families, establish treatment goals and offer expert clinical knowledge and advice. 
5.    They will have excellent clinical skills and experience in managing complex episodes of treatment that require highly complex communication, co-ordination and case management skills. 
6.    As a clinical therapist, the Post holder will offer expert advice to colleagues, service users, partner agencies and trainees as required. This may include attending Senior management meetings and delivering training 
7.    To undertake tasks to support the ongoing development and delivery of Occupational Therapy input within Oasis Restore 
8.    To demonstrate the Trust’s values in everything you do in the work environment.
9.    To be responsible in the use and expenditure of the Trust’s resources that you utilise

Requirements:

  • OT degree and full qualifications
  • HCPC registration
  • UK experience
