Job title: Psychiatric Nurse

Location: Louth

Salary: €20 - €60 P/H

The role

  • Assess and monitor the mental health status of patients through interviews, observations, and assessments

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists and monitor their effectiveness and side effects

  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to address patients' mental health needs

  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to patients, helping them manage their symptoms and improve their mental well-being

  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies

  • Create a safe and therapeutic environment within psychiatric units or facilities, ensuring the well-being and safety of patients

  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with mental illness, promoting access to appropriate care

  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and treatment plans for patients

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in the field of psychiatry and mental health to provide evidence-based care
